FAQ: AI receptionist
What is an AI receptionist?
An AI receptionist is a voice agent that answers your inbound calls, finds out who’s calling and what they want, and puts them through to your team when a person is needed. It runs on your existing phone number, answers around the clock, and speaks whatever language the caller uses.
Can it work as a full receptionist, or only for overflow?
Either. Most businesses start with it behind their team, catching calls when every line is busy or outside working hours. You can also point your main number straight at it and have it answer every inbound call from the start.
What happens when a caller needs a human?
The agent puts them through to one number you nominate, usually your main team line. The caller will need to explain what they want again to whoever picks up, since the agent doesn’t stay on the line to brief them.
Does it pretend to be a person?
No. Ask the agent whether it’s an AI and it will tell you it is.
What languages does it speak?
Almost any. The agent detects the language the caller is using and switches to it automatically, with no setup on your side. Arabic is supported and handled well, which isn’t true of every AI voice product. If you run local numbers in several countries, each one can greet callers in that market’s language.
Does it book appointments?
Not yet. The agent captures what the caller wants, including any dates or times they mention, and that appears in your after-call report so someone on your team can confirm it. Calendar integration is planned but not live yet.
Does it stop robocalls?
Yes. Automated dialers and spam calls reach the agent instead of a person, so nobody on your team picks them up.
Where do I set it up?
In the didlogic mobile app. You describe your business in plain language, set how you want callers greeted, and choose the number the agent hands callers to. No scripting and no engineering. Setup isn’t available in the web portal yet.
What do I get after each call?
An email with the full transcript and a plain-language summary of who called and what they wanted. You can also get daily or weekly digests instead of, or alongside, the per-call emails.
How much does it cost?
There’s no charge for the agent itself. No licence, no seat fee, no per-agent pricing. You pay the standard per-minute rate for traffic on your didlogic numbers, sometimes billed per second, exactly as you would without an agent. Rates depend on the country.
How long does setup take?
Almost immediately. Setting the agent up in the app takes minutes.
